Answers for product and engineering teams
Everything you need to know before launching automated bill experiences with BillerAPI.
Which billers does BillerAPI support?
Coverage is limited to billers with healthy, verified workflows. Consented email discovery is available in beta, while linking and retrieval availability varies by biller. Ask support to verify a specific biller before planning a launch.
How long does integration take?
Integration time depends on your workflow and readiness review. The sandbox, API documentation, SDKs, and webhook tools support evaluation without a promised production timeline.
What environments are available?
Sandbox environments mirror production flows, including simulated billers, MFA challenges, and failure scenarios. Promotion to production requires a short readiness review to ensure compliance and reliability.
How is billing calculated?
Billing has two parts: (1) A fixed monthly fee per linked biller account, and (2) usage-based charges—a small amount per bill fetched (e.g. when you call GetBills or GetBillById) and per bill paid through the platform. You only pay for what you use; sandbox usage is free. Volume and annual commitments can unlock discounts.
Do you provide white-label experiences?
Yes. The Connect UI is themeable with your brand colors, typography, and copy. For deeper customization, you can build a bespoke experience using our API and rely on BillerAPI for credential orchestration.
What compliance certifications do you maintain?
BillerAPI holds no third-party certifications today. A SOC 2 program is underway, with an audit planned post-funding. Credential-protection coverage varies by integration; see our Security page for the current qualified description. Penetration testing and a formal GLBA assessment are on the roadmap.
